360°
panoramic image showing the south side of the church, surrounding
countryside and village. A line of ancient tombstones is visible in the
first few frames; if you use the plus key to zoom in some names and
details become readable.
This panorama used 12 portrait
images taken using a homemade pano-head and a Pentax digital camera. Probably, NOT one of
my best 360's due to over exposure and low winter sunlight. However, I
also took some great still shots with almost perfect exposure of the
church and a patch of wonderfully colourful snowdrops and early bulbs.
About The Parish Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul Located in Church Warsop, North Nottinghamshire
The Parish Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul was listed in the Domesday Book of 1086 and was the property of three Saxon Lords Godric, Leviet, and Ulchel. The definition of the name Warsop has two possible definitions. One is that of Wearscope - weare, a weir or dam and sceop meaning a storehouse. The other is wear that means cautious or outlaw and sceope meaning valley, hence cautious valley.
Using Domesday one can estimate the population of Warsop to be at least one lord of the manor, one priest, one miller, 11 bordars (slaves), 6 sochmen (freemen) and 15 villiens (villagers who gave their services to the lord of the manor). [source:

History]
Modern Day Village of
Church Warsop
Some ungenerous people might comment that nothing much has changed over the years except for the number of
"villains". However, Church Warsop is quite a pleasant little village
seamlessly joined on to Warsop the modern village. The local council seems to be using the European Union
regeneration money supplied after local pit closers quite wisely.
Good Tip When to Visit
Arrive in the morning and park
up in the free car park at the foot of the hill, you'll then be able to
enjoy a succulent fried breakfast at "Jack's MOBILE CAFE" and
very tasty it is too!

"right click" inside the box above and select
"refresh" from the shortcut menu and things will work fine. Left

Still Images of The Church and Early
Spring Bulbs

South View of the Church
Taken late in the afternoon of a very cold February day.
The weak, low winter sun still manages to make the clock dial glow.

Early Spring Flowers Church Warsop
Probably Snowdrops; but to be fair... they could
be any type of bulb!
Superb colours. I like this one.
