360°
panoramic image showing the Priory at Worksop and a delightful little
garden park complete with a wooden bench. The usual empty cans of extra
strong larger were missing and the roar of traffic was muted for a few
moments while the photo was taken... bloody cold though!!
This panorama used 12 portrait
images taken using a homemade pano-head and a Pentax digital camera. Probably, NOT one of
my best 360's due to slight exposure and I was so cold; I forgot to level
the tripod correctly. The panoramic still works for me, despite the colour
value shift, as the location was truly unique.
About Priory Church of Our
Lady and S Cuthbert, S Giles Carburton and Our Lady Clumber, Worksop, North Nottinghamshire
On
March 3rd 1103, an initial grant of monies and lands was made which
founded the great Priory of Our Lady and St Cuthbert at Radford, near
Worksop. The Canons of St Augustine were to establish Worksop Priory for
the worship of God and the service of the local community. [More
from the Priory Web Site]
Worksop is a town in the Bassetlaw district of Nottinghamshire, England on the River Ryton at the northern edge of Sherwood Forest.
Mr Straw's House
Worksop is home to Mr Straw's House, the family home of the Straw family, which was left by the Straw brothers, William and Walter Straw when their parents died in the 1930s. The house remained unaltered until the National Trust acquired the house in the 1990s and opened it to the public.
Modern day Worksop has a lively nightlife with many pubs staying open longer than normal. During
the week and Saturday an open air market sells a wide variety of local produce and the normal crap. The youth of Worksop have posted an online guide to "getting wasted in Worksop". Maybe I'm getting old; but
White Lightning, condoms and behind B&Q just doesn't seem that romantic!
